Our Nursery is a wonderful, nurturing, colourful and exciting place for children to be. After the initial settling in time where children part from their Mummy for the first time, they are welcomed into the Blue Room by our caring, experienced teachers. The key focus is ensuring the children feel happy and content in their new environment. The teachers create a warm, secure, and above all, friendly atmosphere.
The children move from the Blue Room through to the Yellow Room. This is a bright spacious room full of new experiences and toys to explore. The home corner is always a huge hit. The gentle introduction of sounds and numbers are put forward through fantastic hands on experiences. Clay, paint, glitter and a child’s digital camera are just a few of the many ways we help and encourage children to learn while playing and having fun.
As the children approach four they move to the last classroom in our Nursery, the Green Room. Here we continue to embrace the varied and exciting wonder of learning more sounds and numbers. With gentle encouragement most of our children leave us knowing all their sounds and some have even started to read. The Green Room is more structured to help the children prepare for the smooth transition up to big school. Circle time, computers, outside play and individual work are equally important.
We observe daily and plan according to the child’s individual needs. All our teachers aim to give each child a fun, exciting and worthwhile learning experience. You will be a witness to this if you come in and visit!
