Eaton House Girls’ School believes that P.E. is essential to the development of the whole child – academically, socially, emotionally, spiritually and physically. It also helps pupils develop moral and cultural awareness. P.E. provides the foundation for a healthy lifestyle and promotes key skills such as communication, co-operation, decision-making and problem solving.

In addition to P.E. and Games lessons, pupils will also be given numerous opportunities to experience competitive sport through internal team games, matches against other schools, an annual Sports Day, Swimming Gala and events in a variety of situations (e.g. Adventure weekend).

A selection of sports are played throughout the year with the main Games sports as netball, hockey and rounders. For the games lessons Forms 3-6 visit an excellent facility at Kennington Park, where there are two full sized Netball courts and an Astroturf. All Games lessons are two hours long for the senior girls and one hour for the junior girls.

All P.E lessons take place at school in the gym and sports hall and are 30 minutes long for the junior girls and 1 hour for the senior girls. The girls specialise in gymnastics, dance, OAA, fitness, athletics and tennis. All girls benefit from swimming lessons at Clapham Leisure centre once a week. The girls also participate in Ballet lessons each week.

A huge congratulations to the U11’s who won the Small Schools National IAPS Championship!
